One day until anti-discrimination vote

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – There is just one day until you get to cast your vote on a number of important local issues.

One of the most hotly contested issues has been Kalamazoo's anti-discrimination ordinance.

It would add "gay" and "transgender" to the list of protections for housing and employment.

The city commission passed it twice, but now it's up to the voters to decide.

Those opposed to it say it will actually lead to more discrimination.

Supporters say it's about fairness and equality.

Look for a special report detailing both sides Monday night on Newschannel 3 live at 5 and later on wwmt.com.
