Two Injured in Motorcycle Accident

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A motorcyclist and his passenger are injured after a driver ignored a red light.

The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department says it happened around 6:30p.m. Saturday on County Road 681 and Red Arrow Highway.

Deputies say Thomas Nuccio, 47, of Bangor was heading south of CR 681 when he blew through the intersection.

Lawrence Christopher, 60, of Coloma was unable to stop his 2008 Harley Davidson in time and crashed into Nuccio's 1993 Buick Skylark.

Both Lawrence and his wife Betty were thrown from the bike. The two suffered a head injury and were taken to the hospital. Betty is also being treated for a possible broken leg. Their bike was totaled and had to be towed.

Nuccio was uninjured.
