LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – In Ionia County, two men are in the hospital after a strange accident Thursday morning.

Fire officials say that about a dozen men were working on a grain elevator. The men were attaching a new down-spout when the new welding gave way around 9:30 Thursday morning.

One man fell 130 feet and was taken by emergency helicopter to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He's in critical condition. Another man fell about 30 feet and is listed in serious condition.

The fire chief says there were at least ten people below the equipment when the collapse occurred, but no one else was hurt.
