Vaccine clinics in Allegan, Kalamazoo and Ottawa Counties
Comments 0 | Recommend 0WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - People in Ottawa County can get H1N1 vaccines next week with a reservation.
Clinics run from 4-to-8 pm next Wednesday and Thursday. Then, there will be two more are the following Wednesday and Saturday.
Reservations are required. Call 877-211-LAKE to set up an appointment.
You need to be in an H1N1 priority group to get the vaccine. Those who qualify include pregnant women, anyone between 6 months and 24 years old, those with chronic health issues and health care and emergency medical personnel.
Allegan County will also be offering H1N1 clinics next week. The first will be at the Hamilton Elementary School at 3472 Lincoln Road in Hamilton, Michigan from 4:00 to 9:00 on December second.
The second will be at the Otsego High School at 550 Washington Ave. Otsego, Michigan on December third from 4:00 until 9:00.
You must schedule an appointment for the clinics in Allegan County. Call 269-686-4350 between 9:00 and 6:00 Mon-Fri. They ask that you please contact your doctor for vaccine availability there before you set up an appointment with the county. The vaccinations are also for targeted groups only.
The Borgess Visiting Nurses’ Association has re-scheduled a postponed flu clinic at the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo County. The clinic is now scheduled for Wednesday, December 2 from 2:00-4:00 pm.
Visiting Nurses from Borgess VNA Home Care will be administering the vaccine in the Air Zoo’s second floor conference rooms. Costs for the vaccines are $33 for the flu vaccine and $28 the flu mist (available for ages 2-49 only).
Pneumonia vaccinations will also be offered for $52.50 each. This year, the CDC has recommended that two additional groups receive the pneumonia vaccine: any adult between the ages of 19 and 64 who either smokes or has asthma.
H1N1 vaccines will not be available at this clinic. As more information becomes available, Borgess VNA Home Care nurses will post the information on their Flu hotline at 269.382.6735.
