    Apparently intoxicated man arrested after breaking into apartment

    PAW PAW, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Police in Paw Paw say they have arrested a man who 'appeared to be intoxicated' after they say he broke into an apartment.

     

    Police say they responded to the 400 block of Cedar Street around 2:20 am Tuesday morning. The victim in the incident told officers that he was sleeping when he heard loud bangs on his apartment door.

     

    The victim said that his door-frame broke off and the door flew open before the suspect stepped into his apartment. The victim told police that he yelled at the suspect and he fled on foot.

     

    Police say they located the suspect about a block away from the scene after a K-9 unit tracked him down.

     

    Police say another case of breaking and entering in the 300 block of Cedar Street on Sunday evening. They are investigating to see if the two incidents are related.
