Break-in suspect found after four hour police search

BARRY COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A man suspected of breaking into a house is finally under arrest after police spent hours searching for him in Barry County.

The suspect's car was spotted by police around 11:00 am Thursday morning after a homeowner in Hastings called 911 to report the break-in.

When the car got a flat tire, the suspect drove into the woods near Delton and took off running. One school in the area went on lock-down and people in the area were told to be on the lookout.

About four hours after the search started, police got a tip about a suspicious man wandering around Delton. The suspect was found inside a gas station.

Investigators are trying to figure out if that suspect could have been involved in a series of break-ins in the area.
