FAST FEEDBACK: Regulating nicotine

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - In Oregon, a state lawmaker is pushing a plan to make nicotine a prescription drug.

Doing that would make anything containing nicotine, including cigarettes and cigars, available by prescription only. The lawmaker says the government should control nicotine the same way it controls pseudoephedrine, which can be used to make meth.

The lawmaker doesn't expect his bill to pass, but says he hopes to lay the groundwork for the future.
