GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A documentary on invasive species in Lake Huron is making its debut in Grand Rapids.

The film titled "Lake Invaders: The Fight for Lake Huron" was produced by faculty and students at Grand Valley State University in Allendale. A screening was scheduled for Friday night at the DeVos Center.

The film was two years in the making and explores the threat invasive species have posed to the lake. It features state Department of Natural Resources staff from Alpena and the DNR's Chinook research vessel.

The DNR in Alpena for more than 60 years has studied invasive species in Lake Huron, including sea lamprey, alewives, zebra mussels and round gobies.
