MSU buys eight acres of property in downtown Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Michigan State University has made another big move in Grand Rapids, buying up even more property.
The school bought the former Grand Rapids Press building and five parking lots north of downtown for future expansion of the college of human medicine.
The $12 million purchase of nearly eight acres of downtown property was approved by the board of trustees on Friday morning.
School leaders say the purchase will allow them to expand their research when the time is right.
