Teacher spending 65 hours in a tree

ROCKFORD, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Rockford Christian Schools teacher is going to new heights to teach his students about going green, both in the natural and monetary sense.

David Buth climbed 40-feet up a tree Monday, for something he's calling Operation Squirrel.

He'll stay there until Thursday morning.

Buth is up there to recognize fund raising efforts by his students for a trip this summer to Teton Science School in Wyoming.

The kids raised $6,500 so he's staying in the tree for 65 hours.

You can keep track of Operation Squirrel online.
