Trench collapse sends man to the hospital with broken leg

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A Kalamazoo man is recovering from a broken leg after a trench collapsed, burying half his body.
Dispatchers say the man was trying to install a heating/cooling system Tuesday morning when the trench caved in. The incident took place on Bronson Boulevard.
Dispatchers say emergency crews worked to stabilize the ground before using special equipment to pull the man out.
The victim's name has not been released, but we're told he went to the hospital with his right leg broken.
