Time running out for softened school budget blow
LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Time is running out for lawmakers to soften budget blows to school districts.
According to the Michigan Information and Research Service the state legislature needs to take action Friday or schools will see a $127 cut in their per pupil funding.
That's on top of a $165 cut lawmakers already approved.
The grim news means tough decisions for school districts that have been forced to trim millions of dollars from their already tight budgets.
