Noble International announces closure of South Haven plant
SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - On Tuesday, the City of South Haven says they were notified by Noble International of their intent to cease operations at their South Haven facility.
Noble International has been looking to sell its Roll-Forming facility in South Haven, however if a buyer is not found, the facility will permanently close. Should the facility close, it will result in the permanent layoff of approximately 279 union employees.
If a sale does not occur, it is anticipated that the plant will close on or before June 20, 2009.
Officials from the City of South Haven say they are working diligently with state agencies to find programs to assist in the sale of the facility.
