Sparta Police look for help identifying subject

SPARTA, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Police in Sparta are looking for assistance in identifying a subject they believe may have been involved in a larceny at Sparta High School.

The subject is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s to mid 30s, approximately 5' 10", weighing 240 pounds with short black hair and a goatee.

Police say the subject entered the school during a sporting event, but did not appear to be there for the event as he was caught on camera roaming and entering parts of the building he had no business being in. Items were found missing from those areas shortly after.

Police are looking to identify the subject not only to question him about the larceny, but also to be able to inform other area school administrators and staff in case the subject attempts similar acts elsewhere.

Anyone with information about the identity of the subject is asked to contact the Sparta Police Department at 616-887-8716 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
