WMU looks to grow
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Western Michigan University's President is taking the next step in his quest for a medical school.
Doctor John Dunn will meet with the board of trustees to tell them just how much it would cost to get the project off the ground.
The new school would be privately funded and a community-based partnership with Borgess Medical Center and Bronson Methodist Hospital.
Western's Board of Trustees will also consider a proposal to try and draw in more students from the east side of the state. It will decide whether to lease a spot in Royal Oak to set up a recruitment office in the Detroit area.
The board meets at four o'clock Monday afternoon at the Bernhard Center.
