A powerful cold front has moved across West Michigan bringing a vicious blast of cold air. The rain has now all changed over to snow and the wind has strengthened considerably. With the water on the roads from the rain earlier this evening and temperatures in most areas already well below freezing, roads will remain a coat of ice for the rest of the night tonight. In addition, snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility and make icy roads even more slippery. Near blizzard conditions are expected the rest of the night as wind gusts approach 50 mph. In the warning area, 2 to 5 inches of snow could fall with a few spots possibly getting closer to 8 inches near Lake Michigan. This is a powerful and dangerous winter storm and travel will be tretcherous throughout the area the rest of tonight and during the morning hours tomorrow. Stay tuned to NewsChannel 3 and wwmt.com for the latest on this winter storm.
