GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police in Grand Haven say that two GVSU students were found dead in a vehicle Wednesday.
Douglas Ward, 26, and Amber Brown, 20, were found by one of Brown's family members in Muskegon County. The car was in a wooded area near Indian Bay Road and Meinert Road.
Police say their initial investigation leads them to believe that they died of carbon monoxide poisoning. A charcoal grill was found inside the vehicle with them.
Both students were last seen by friends on November 16th on campus. A missing persons report was filed on Ward after he failed to show up for several classes on the 17th.
Police say that a phone conversation with Brown indicated that she was headed to do some camping on property owned by her family.
