One critical after rollover crash
SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office says that speed and alcohol appear to be factors in a rollover crash that sent multiple people to the hospital.
Sheriff's deputies say a car being driven by Samuel Duran-Diaz attempted to pass a slower vehicle while heading southbound on 24th Street Monday afternoon. Deputies say after pulling into oncoming traffic, the driver apparently changed his mind, swerving hard to the right and putting the vehicle into a skid.
The vehicle then ran off the road, striking a mailbox and traveling through a ditch before rolling multiple times, ejecting both front seat occupants from the vehicle.
All five people in the car were transported to Bronson and Borgess ER's, with the driver being listed in critical condition.
