Death reported to insurance agency weeks before body found
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Testimony has revealed new information in a West Michigan murder case.
An insurance agent says someone called to suspend Julia Dawson's life insurance policy just a day after she was reported missing.
News reports say the caller told the agent Julia was dead, but her body wasn't found until a few weeks later.
The insurance agent says the company would only have accepted a claim from a funeral home, Julia's insurance agent or her husband, Tim Dawson. He's the one standing trial for her murder.
The defense says there's no way to prove Dawson was the one who called because the insurance agent didn't take down the person's name.
Testimony continues Wednesday in Kent County.
