Man implicated in murder of GR woman executed

TEXAS (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A man suspected of murdering a Grand Rapids woman has been executed down in Texas.
Rodrigo Hernandez died by lethal injection last night.
He was convicted for kidnapping, raping and murdering a woman down in San Antonio.
While he was on death row in Texas a DNA sample linked Hernandez to the 1991 murder of Muriel Stoepker here in West Michigan.
Her body was found near the campus of Grand Rapids Community College.
Hernandez maintained his innocence in both killings.
