Two townhouses broken into Thursday night
Comments 0 | Recommend 0KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – The search is on for thieves who have been breaking into Kalamazoo homes while people sleep.
Police say they robbed two Forest Hills Townhouses Thursday night.
Newschannel 3 spoke to a man who says he woke up Friday morning to a broken window and a ransacked home. He says the thieves took his 47-inch flat screen TV, computer, and his girlfriend's purse, which had her Social Security card and car keys inside.
Aaron Johnson said the scariest part of the ordeal was that he, his girlfriend, and their child were sleeping upstairs.
"We figured they weren't bold enough to come upstairs and get everything, they just got what they could and moved on to the next house," said Johnson.
The thieves also broke into Johnson's neighbor's house. Johnson believes they tried to break into other apartments, but couldn't.
Anyone who knows anything about the crimes is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at 269-337-8994.
