Gobles man rear-ended on tractor

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Gobles man is recovering from serious injuries after he was rear-ended on his tractor.

Van Buren County deputies responded to the crash around 7:15 Wednesday night. A driver told deputies she didn't see the tractor in front of her on County Road 388 when she hit it.

The impact from the crash threw Rockie Keely from the tractor and into the middle of the road. The impact was so strong that it broke the tractor's axle off.

Keely suffered head, neck and back injuries and was taken to the hospital where he's in stable condition.

The driver of the car was not hurt.

Deputies say it was dark at the time of the crash but the tractor did have lights on it.

Police will continue their investigation.
