Trial underway for man accused of killing wife
COLDWATER, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A jury has been sat, and the prosecution presented their opening statements in the case of a Branch County man accused of murdering his wife.
Dee Dee Foley was shot and killed at the home she shared with her husband in Girard Township home in February. Dee Dee taught second grade at Union City Schools and had worked in the district for 19 years.
Her husband, Thomas, was the one who called the police, reporting that he'd walked in and found his wife's body, but prosecutors later determined that he was the one who pulled the trigger.
Foley face the possibility of life in prison if convicted.
The trial will pick up again on Thursday, since the courts will be closed Wednesday to observe Veterans' Day.
