TEKONSHA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Litchfield man is in serious condition after jackknifing his truck and trailer.

Troopers at the Michigan State Police Battle Creek Post say it happened at 7:35 p.m. Saturday on M-60 near 15 Mile Road.

The 61-year-old driver lost control of his Ford Pickup while hauling a horse trailer. His vehicle then jackknifed causing his truck to enter the path of oncoming traffic.

A Ford Excursion was unable to stop in time and hit the truck. Out of the four occupants in the Excursion, three of them have been treated and released. The fourth a 22-year-old Jonesville resident is listed in good condition having suffered a broken arm.

The driver of the Ford Pickup was taken to the hospital where he is listed in serious condition. Troopers blame the accident on the icy road conditions.
