Passenger Killed after Thrown from Vehicle

SPARTA, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Casnovia woman is dead after a two vehicle accident on M-37 near Sparta.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police in Rockford say Jane Carlson, 63, was ejected from a van around 3:30p.m. Saturday.
Witnesses say a truck entering onto southbound M-37 struck the van already traveling on the expressway. The van lost control and flipped several times into the median.
Carlson, who was not wearing her seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other occupants in the vehicle were injured and transported to Spectrum Hospital.
