Officers warn of holiday scam

SPRINGFIELD, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – It is the season of giving, but officers in Springfield want to warn you about a possible holiday scam.
They say a woman is going door to door, claiming to work with Safe Place in Battle Creek.
She says she's collecting money to buy turkeys for Thanksgiving meals at the shelter.
Public safety officers say it's not true.
She's driving a blue Mercury Villager mini-van.
If you see her or she comes to your door call Springfield Public Safety immediately.
