ROSCOMMON, Mich. (AP) - Michigan Clean Water Corps participants are gathering this week in northern Lower Michigan to examine new steps that can be taken to protect the state's lakes, rivers and streams.

The MiCorps conference runs Monday and Tuesday at the Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center on Higgins Lake.

MiCorps is a network of volunteers that was assembled to help the state and gather water quality data. It includes programs that monitor wadeable streams and rivers as well as inland lakes.
