The Weather Gods Are Smiling on West Michigan
O.K., so we were shorted on nice weather for just about the entire month of October. Maybe this is Mother Nature's way of saying, "My bad!" This week's weather is going to be great -- particularly for this time of year, which is better known for being chilly and dreary.
An area of high pressure setting up camp just to our south will be our friend for the entire week. The next best chance for rain, at this time, appears to be Saturday. Not only will be we be dry, but likely abundantly sunny, with warmer than average temperatures. The typical high for this time of year in West Michigan is around 50 degrees. But if forecast models are correct (and there isn't really much reason in this weather pattern to doubt that they will be), we'll be flirting with or reaching 60 degrees Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Even though the pattern begins to break down over the weekend, it doesn't look like the biggest change will occur until Monday, when a powerful storm may be moving in from the Plains. That system promises to bring showers, possibly thunderstorms, and a lot of wind, followed by some chilly air. But that's still a week away, and you can bet a lot will change between now and then. So, as always, stay tuned! Remember that you can get the latest weather updates on Newschannel 3 and at wwmt.com.
