KENOVA, W.Va. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) -- - Two people were killed Sunday when a single-engine plane headed for West Michigan crashed shortly after taking off from Tri-State Airport near Huntington, West Virginia.

FAA records show that the plane was registered to a Richland man. NTSB officials say the victims were a father and son from Michigan, however their names have not been released.

Federal officials are already on scene, but say their investigation may be delayed because of the remote location of the crash.
