Grants for job creation announced

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Michigan's economy got some good news on Wednesday in the form of grants.

Johnson System in Marshall will get a $112,000 grant to support the company's expansion. That money will go toward building towers for wind turbines for homes and businesses and is expected to generate $279,000 in development and 15 new jobs.

More than a million dollars in grants will also go to Montcalm County for projects.

The City of Greenville will get $930,000 to help Zero LLC buy machinery and equipment for a factory they leased in town. That company makes furniture, and the new project could create 93 new jobs.

The Village of Sheridan will get $108,000 to help hook the Wright Plastics Products plant to the village sewer system. That project will create 11 new jobs.
