Strangling brings window blind recall

November 21, 2008 - 7:10 AM

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A little girl died after being strangled by a cord on some window blinds and it has prompted a recall.

IKEA and the the Consumer Product Safety Commission say Iris and Alvine Roman blinds pose serious threats to young kids.

The cords that are exposed can choke a child if owners aren't careful.

In April that's exactly what happened to a 1-year-old girl in Connecticut. She died from that accident.

If you have the blinds, take them down.
