Woman swerves to miss deer, hits tree

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Aeromed transported a Caledonia woman to the hospital after she swerved to miss a deer and crashed into a tree Tuesday morning.

 

Deputies say Traci Overholt was on her way home from a Wyoming restaurant around 12:15 when a deer jumped in front of her truck.

 

This was on 108th Street near M-37.

 

Overholt lost control and hit a tree. She was pinned in her truck and crews had to cut her out.

 

She was flown to the hospital with injuries to her spine, arm and leg.

 

Doctors expect her to recover.
