Gun recovered 25 years later
NEAR GOBLES, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A drug investigation has ended with the recovery of a stolen gun 25 years after it went missing.
Van Buren County deputies went to a home on 35th Street near Gobles Monday afternoon to check out a possible meth lab.
They didn't find any evidence of drugs there, but they did find a number of guns. One of them, a shotgun, came back as stolen.
A Kalamazoo man reported that gun missing back in 1983 after someone broke into his house. The owner says it belonged to his father and holds quite a bit of sentimental value.
He never thought he'd see it again.
At this point deputies still haven't tracked down the person who stole it.
