CNN anchor resigns

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - One of the most well-known names in cable news is ending his run at CNN.
Lou Dobbs went on the air Wednesday night and announced he is leaving the network effective immediately.
Dobbs says CNN agreed to let him out of his contract so he can pursue new opportunities, but he isn't sure what those are just yet.
Dobbs had been the longest-running anchor on the Cable News Network.
