Political parties unleash competing ads in Mich.
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The sour economy has the starring role in new ads being launched in Michigan as the Republican National Convention wraps up.
The Republican ads say "Runaway gas prices have stalled Michigan's economy" and say it's incredible Barack Obama and congressional leaders still oppose offshore drilling.

Obama has said he'd support some offshore drilling but says offshore drilling won't increase oil production for at least seven years.
The Democratic National Committee is launching its own ad saying McCain and President Bush don't seem to notice Michigan's serious economic problems.
