Albion student runs with wolves at animal park
ALBION, Mich. (AP) - To Albion College basketball center Wayne Bond, the the elbows that can fly under the hoop during a college game are nothing like the thrill of racing a wolf pack in your car.
The senior biology spent his summer working at the Wolf Park, an animal research and education center in Battle Ground, Ind.
Bond says he led walking tours and had direct contact with the park's 14 adult wolves, three red foxes, two coyotes and its bison herd.
Bond says his favorite memory is of racing the wolves in his car while feeding them meatballs laced with medicine.
He says that gave the wolves a chance to run for their food and says he could see the excitement on their faces.
