Little girl succumbs to brain tumor

OTSEGO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - There is a sad update to pass along to you. A little girl from Otsego who was battling a rare brain tumor passed away over the weekend.

Kaylea Hatten was seven years old. Doctors found an inoperable tumor on her brain stem a little over a year ago.

After that her family held a series of fund raisers to get enough money for an experimental treatment. She went to Arizona for the treatment earlier this year, but it didn't work.

Family members say she died peacefully in her sleep early Sunday morning.

Visitation for Kaylea is scheduled for Wednesday at the Langeland Funeral Home in Kalamazoo. Her funeral will be held Thursday.
