Pit Bull Mauls Baby to Death

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A 10-day-old baby was mauled to death by the family's pet on Saturday afternoon.
According to police, it happened inside a home in the 400 block of Garfield around 4:30 p.m.
Police said the baby boy suffered extensive trauma and died at the scene after a Pit Bull Terrier attacked him. Police remained at the scene for the remainder of the night.
The baby's mom and 2-year-old sibling were present at the time of the incident.
The dog was taken from the home and is now in quarantine.
Neighbors told Newschannel 3 they never saw the Pit Bull act out toward children before.
