E.Coli closes eight West Michigan beaches

WEST MICHIGAN (Newschannel 3) - Health officials are warning people to stay out of the water at several beaches in Allegan and Ottawa County.

Five popular spots in Allegan Co. have been closed to the public after finding high levels of E.coli.

Three of the beaches affected are on Lake Michigan, including Douglas Beach, Pier Cove, and Westside County Park. Other beaches include Little John and Dumont Lakes.

In Ottawa Co., a "No Body Contact" advisory has been issued for the Grand River, as well as Lake Macatawa.

Signs have been posted at these locations warning people of the problem.
