Chicago repeals 'the silliest ordinance ever passed'
Comments 0 | Recommend 0CHICAGO (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - In Chicago, lawmakers have decided to fry a controversial food ordinance.
They repealed a ban on foie gras, a delicacy made of duck and goose liver.
The city's mayor applauded the decision, saying lawmakers have more important things to deal with than food.
"Does that make sense? I mean this is what government should be doing telling you what you should be putting on toast?" Asked Mayor Richard Daley. "If you don't like foie gras just have smoked salmon."
The mayor called the ban the silliest ordinance ever passed.
Chefs came out to show their support for the decision, parading their ducks around city hall.
