CPS said child was safe
MONTCALM COUNTY (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Further details are coming out in a Montcalm County murder suicide investigation.
Reports say just hours before police found a young boy dead beside his father and stepmother a worker from Child Protective Services told a county prosecutor the 9-year-old was safe at home.
Police believe Oliver Braman killed himself along with that 9-year-old, his son Nicholas, and his wife Nancy.
They say he did it by starting his truck and then running a hose from the exhaust pipe into the house.
Braman pleaded guilty to child abuse before and reports Thursday morning say Nicholas's mother filed for full custody just last week.
