Attempted bank robber didn't get far
GRAND RAPIDS (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Grand Rapids Police caught a bank robbery suspect when he tried to hold up the same credit union twice in one month.
We say "tried" because employees recognized the man before he could actually walk into the West Michigan Credit Union on Front Avenue.
A worker thought he was the same guy who held up the bank on January 9th. Employees locked the door before he could get inside and called police.
Officers arrested the man as he tried to drive away. He's from Newaygo.
He later confessed to the previous robbery and admitted he planned to hold up the credit union again.
