Dearborn teenager sells 17,328 boxes of Girl Scout cookies
Comments 0 | Recommend 0DETROIT (AP) - A Girl Scout from suburban Detroit is financing her trip to Europe with Thin Mints, Samoas and Do-Si-Dos.
Jennifer Sharpe, a 15-year-old from Dearborn, sold 17,328 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year, shattering her troop's old record.
That's also believed to be a national record, though Girl Scouts of the USA doesn't track individual sales.
Pam Sharpe says she helped her daughter sell cookies on a street corner every day.
Jennifer's Troop 813 raised a total of about 21,000 dollars in cookie sales that will pay for its 10-day trip to Europe this winter.
Jennifer adds that she "loves" Girl Scout cookies.
