Boy Recovering After Attack By Family Dog

PAW PAW, MI (Newschannel 3) - A 10-year old boy is recovering in the hospital Saturday after being attacked by the family Pit Bull.  The boy's injuries are so severe doctors amputated his right arm.

The attack happened around 11:00 am this morning while the boy was home alone. An older brother returned home to find the boy still being attacked, and took the boy to the hospital.  Both parents were in Indiana at the time.

The two year old Pit Bull named Torco was euthanized at the Van Buren County Animal Shelter.  The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office is still investigating and says they will turn the case over to the county prosecutor's office for review.
