For Candidates, It's Win, Lose, Draw - and Draw
BLACKMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - It's been a month of win, lose and draw in a Blackman Township primary race.
Mark Singer won the Republican nomination for trustee of the Jackson County township yesterday by pulling a piece of paper reading "nominated" out of a box.
Opponent Rick Johns won the August Fifth primary by one vote -- but Singer asked for a recount. The two candidates were tied after the second tallying.
The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports Johns can appeal the matter to the circuit court. But in the meantime, Singer's name is going on to the November Fourth ballot.
