DETROIT (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - General Motors is recalling a handful of its new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, due to an airbag problem.
GM is recalling 843 trucks because the air bags may not fully inflate in a crash.
The company is in the process of contacting owners directly.
The new re-designed Silverado and Sierra are the most important vehicles in the GM fleet.
The automaker makes $12,000 on each truck it sells, and they account for about 60 percent of the company's global earnings.
