Hiring on the rise, but mostly temp jobs

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Hiring is on the rise in the U.S., but most of it is temporary work.
The Associated Press reports that many large companies, including Wal-Mart, General Motors, and Pepsi are hiring more tmeps, freelancers, contract workers, and consultants.
Those workers now make up 12 percent of America's work-force.
The report says temp jobs do not boost the economy like permanent jobs, because workers are less likely to spend as much as those with full-time employment and benefits.
