WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The White House has reportedly come up with a short list of candidates to succeed Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
The likely leading choices are Fed Vice Chair Janet Yellen, former White House Adviser Larry Summers, and former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
Bernanke has served as Fed chief for nearly 8 years, helping the U.S. economy recover from the worst recession since the Great Depression.
He's expected to step down when his second term is over at the end of this year.
