YouTube hits 1 billion user milestone

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - YouTube has hit a major milestone, announcing that more than 1 billion people are visiting its website every month.
The announcement comes six months after Facebook also reached 1 billion users.
YouTube launched in February of 2005, and in its early years was run from a small office above a fast food chain in California.
By 2006, the now Google-owned video sharing website and its 67 member staff had already attracted 50 million worldwide monthly users.
