DENSE FOG ADVISORY

UNTIL 10 AM

The National Weather Service issues a DENSE FOG ADVISORY for all of West Michigan until 10 AM.  Many reports of dense fog already exist, and your visibility may become worse before noticeable improvements.  Recent rainfall, high moisture levels, especially near the ground, and light winds all combine to create fog.  Slowing down and increasing your stopping distance are a few ways to increase your safety while driving.

1 in 3 seniors die from Alzheimer's

1 in 3 seniors die from Alzheimer
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - One in three American seniors die from Alzheimer's or dementia.

A recent Alzheimer's Association report found the death rate for the disease rose 68 percent during the past decade, and unless researchers find a way to prevent it or treat it, that number is expected to climb even higher.

The report also found that 70-year-olds with Alzheimer's are twice as likely to die within 10 years compared to 70-year-olds who do not have the disease.

This is due to the fact that their bodies are more prone to pneumonia and other illnesses.
